Help & Support

Getting started
What RollSummary does and how to record your first session.

RollSummary turns a recording of your tabletop RPG session into a transcript, a clean recap, and campaign notes that grow into a wiki over time. You play, we remember.

Open a campaign, click New Session, choose your audio or video file, give the session a title, and submit. RollSummary transcribes and summarizes it in the background. You do not have to wait on the page.

Common audio and video formats work, including MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A, and MP4. Your file is converted to an efficient audio format in your browser before it is uploaded, so large recordings still transfer well.

Record in almost any language. RollSummary detects the language automatically and writes your transcript and notes back in that same language, right-to-left scripts included. There is no language to pick.

Recordings, summaries & notes
What you get back and how your recordings are handled.

A full transcript, a summarized recap, and campaign notes you can edit and link together. Notes become a searchable wiki as your campaign grows.

Only if you turn on Keep session audio when you create the session (available on paid plans). If you leave it off, the recording is discarded once your transcript and summary are ready. The notes are always kept.

Transcripts and summaries are AI-generated and can be imperfect, especially with crosstalk or background noise. Treat them as a strong starting point and review before relying on them, as noted in our Terms of Service.

Yes. Turn on Publish recap to Community when creating a session (available on paid plans) and a post with the summary is shared with your party.

Your account
Managing your profile, password, email, and account.

Open the user menu in the top-right, go to Settings Profile, edit your display name, and save.

If you are signed in, go to Settings SecurityChange password (passwords need at least 8 characters). If you signed up with Google, set a password from the sign-in page first.

If you are locked out, use the forgot-password link on the sign-in page and we will email you a reset link.

Email changes are not available yet. Your email is shown as read-only in Settings. If you need to update it, email us at julio@rollsummary.com and we will help.

Go to Settings AccountDelete account. We email you a confirmation link, and confirming permanently removes your account, campaigns, notes, and stored recordings. This cannot be undone.

Campaigns & players
Inviting your table and joining a campaign.

Open your campaign's Settings PlayersInvite Players. You can send an email invitation or generate a shareable guest link with an expiry.

They open the invite or guest link you shared and accept. New players create their character as part of joining, then land in the campaign.

Plans, billing & AI hours
How pricing works and what happens when you run out.

Plans are measured in AI session hours per month: Tavern Scribe (6h), Campaign Keeper (20h), and Dungeon Master (50h), plus optional pay-as-you-go credits that never expire. See Pricing for the full breakdown.

The Free workspace has no AI hours, so transcription, summaries, keeping audio, and auto-posting recaps require a paid plan or purchased credits. Upgrade any time from Pricing.

You will see a message that there are not enough AI hours for the session. Your monthly plan hours are used first, then any credits. You can upgrade your plan or buy credits at Pricing.

Go to Settings Plan & usageBilling and click Cancel subscription. Your plan runs until the end of the period you already paid for, and you can resume it any time before then. After that, everything you created stays readable and your stored recordings stay playable. Only new AI recaps and audio storage stop.

Nothing you made is deleted. Your notes, transcripts, and recaps stay readable, and recordings you stored stay playable. New AI work (transcription, recaps, and storing new audio) pauses until you resubscribe or add credits. If a payment fails, we email you and show a warning in the app so you can update your card from Settings Billing.

In Settings: Plan & usage shows your plan and AI hours remaining, and Storage shows how much of your audio and image storage you have used across your campaigns.
